General Information
Located between Cleveland and Pittsburgh, Covelli Centre is Northeast Ohio's newest destination for family entertainment. An attractive 'in-between' city, Youngstown now sees first-rate events making a stop to entertain the area. Families can expect to see nationally-recognized circuses, chart-topping musicians, jaw-dropping sporting events, and crowd-pleasing family shows like Disney On Ice and Sesame Street Live. - It takes an average of 6 hrs.to convert the facility from event to event.
- It takes a Covelli Centre Operations staff of about 10 people 32 hrs. to make ice. This includes painting all ice logos in by hand.
- The Covelli Centre Ice is put in late September and remains for the entire Hockey season. It is covered with Athletica "Ice Deck" for events during the hockey season.
- The ice at the Covelli Centre is 1" thick and maintained at 19 degrees for hockey and 24 degrees for Disney on Ice and Figure skating.
- There are approximately 7 miles of cooling pipes in the concrete floor under the ice.
- There are 4 visiting locker rooms/ dressing rooms and 2 Green Rooms for visiting teams and artists.
- The Covelli Centre will use 550 cubic yards of dirt for events such as PBR Rodeo to cover the performance area.
